The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV) will organize a webinar on Monday 2 September 2024 from 12:00 to 13:00 CEST (13:00-14:00 Helsinki time) on the use of publication metrics in responsible assessment.
The Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment (CoARA) and the Finnish national recommendation Good practice in researcher evaluation emphasize that qualitative expert assessment can be supported with responsibly used quantitative indicators. Especially the use of publication metrics is much discussed from the perspective of responsible research culture and assessment.
In the webinar, Emanuel Kulczycki (Adam Mickiewicz University Poznan/CoARA WG on Multilingualism) will present on the challenges of publication metrics and qualitative assessment based on his book The Evaluation Game, followed by time for questions and discussion.
