The Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK has opened the draft recommendation on the ethical use of artificial intelligence in research for comments.
The Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK is preparing a recommendation on the ethics of AI. The draft of the recommendation, titled the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Research: Research Integrity and Ethical Principles. Recommendation of the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity (TENK), is now ready for comments.
The aim of the recommendation is to support researchers, research organisations and other research actors in responsible and ethically sustainable use of AI as part of good research practice.
The recommendation will be published in June 2026, and we warmly invite the research community to comment on the draft version of the recommendation. Feedback is hoped for especially from people working in expert, advisory, and administrative roles in research ethics and from ethics committees in the human sciences.
Please submit your comments via an electronic feedback survey by 15 March 2026. The draft of the recommendation is included in the survey form, and it can also be downloaded as a pdf (see below). The survey interface and the questionnaire are in Finnish, but responses can be submitted in Finnish, Swedish or English.
