TENK has released a new video for educational and information purposes. The video illustrates the importance of research integrity (RI), which consists of good research practices.
The Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK's guideline The Finnish Code of Conduct for Research Integrity and Procedures for Handling Alleged Violations of Research Integrity in Finland 2023 (PDF) presents a set of good research practices that ensure that research integrity is maintained throughout the whole lifecycle of the research. Failure to comply with them can, at worst, lead to an alleged violation of research integrity and a possible RI process.
Good research practices can be linked to eight areas of scientific activity:
- the research environment
- training, supervision and mentoring
- research procedures
- safeguards and agreements
- data practices and management
- collaborative working
- authorship, publishing and dissemination
- reviewing and evaluating
This video produced by TENK for educational use illustrates these practices. The video is also available in Finnish and Swedish.
The video is licensed under the CC BY 4.0 license i.e. it is freely available source with mention of: Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK and Linda Saukko-Rauta/Redanredan.
